Well, after finally getting fed up about all of the privacy issues associated with Microsoft and Apple, I've decided to start the process of running LINUX as my primary operating system. Frankly, I guess I'm a bit of a technical Luddite, as oxymoronis as that might seem. I sort of long for the day when I knew what my computer was doing, and my computer only did what I told it to do. I'm not looking for an "experience." I just want my computer to do what I ask it to do, and no more.
I'm making this blog for two reasons.
The first is selfish. I hope to document how I solve problems along the way so that, if I encounter the same problems again, I can look up the solutions.
The second is a bit more altruistic. Hopefully my path will serve as breadcrumbs for other adventures into the world of a less commercialized computing experience. I could keep these notes for myself on my computer, but why not make the solutions I find and challenges I face a bit more generally available?
As a recovering perfectionist, I hope that these blog pages will be highly imperfect... yet still helpful to myself and other.
